A Massachusetts Nursing License
To practice nursing in Massachusetts you must hold a valid, current license issued by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. A Massachusetts Nursing License
To practice nursing in Massachusetts you must carry a valid nursing license. You can learn more about the requirements for Initial Nurse Licensure or Reciprocity and download the necessary forms from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.

A Massachusetts Nursing License
To practice nursing in Massachusetts you must hold a valid, current license issued by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.

Other licensure requirements as specified in Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 112, Sections74, and 74A include:
  1. Registered Nurse (RN): graduation from a Board-approved RN program. Practical Nurse (PN): graduation from a Board-approved PN nursing education program. Former students who withdrew in good standing from a Board approved Registered Nurse program who meet Practical Nurse curriculum requirements at the time of withdrawal may be eligible for Practical Nurse licensure.
  2. Good moral character, as established by the Board of Registration in Nursing.
  3. Achievement of a pass score on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
  4. Payment of all required fees.

There is no "Graduate Nurse" status in Massachusetts.
