NURSING CAREER COACHES
A central component of the NUCLI grant within each regional area is the Nursing Career Coach. The Nurse Career Coach guides individuals to explore, choose, prepare for, enter, and succeed in a nursing career. Each Nursing Career Coach is working with her area's local Regional Employment Board, health care facilities and nursing education programs.
Boston Region Career Coach
Helen Kranz, RN, BSN
Helen Kranz received a Diploma in Nursing from St. Elizabeth's Hospital School and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of New Hampshire. After graduation from Nursing School in 1970, she spent 3 years on active duty in the United States Navy Nurse Corps. She was stationed at Camp LeJeune Marine Corps Base, North Carolina, and Subic Bay Naval Station in the Philippine Islands. In 1973, she transferred to the Naval Reserve and spent the next 27 years in various positions of leadership as well as nursing assignments in California, Tennessee, and New England. Kranz retired from the Naval Reserve in 1999. Her civilian work experiences include Intensive/Coronary Care Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing, Visiting Nurse/Hospice, Ambulatory Care, Insurance Nursing, and Healthcare Recruiting. In her projects, Kranz is working to mentor and assist adult learners with their career advancement plans.
Central Massachusetts Region
Anne Marchant, MSN, RN
Anne Marchant is a Master's prepared clinical specialist in child and adolescent health nursing. Her previous experience includes acute care, Early Intervention, home health, nursing education and school health. She joined the Healthcare Works Initiative at the Metro South/West Regional Employment Board in December 2003 where she serves as the Regional Career Coach for NUCLI.
South East Massachusetts Region Career Coach
Joyce A. Dobush, RN, BSN
During her thirty years of professional practice, Joyce Dobush has worked in a variety of hospital settings in New York and Connecticut. These have included the operating room; critical care unit and emergency room. She has taught in the classroom and clinical settings of an LPN program and in a hospital staff development setting. Utilization Review with Case Management for discharge planning and school nursing are also part of her background.
Joyce is a native of upstate New York where she attended St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing and received her Diploma in Nursing. After practicing for many years as a staff nurse, she returned to school and obtained her Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing at the State University of New York at Utica/Rome.
Western Massachusetts Region Career Coach
Lynda M. Persch, RN, BSN
Lynda Persch has served as the Western Mass Regional Nurse Career Coach for NUCLI since September 2004. She is a graduate of St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, Hartford, CT and the Elms College, Chicopee, MA. With nearly thirty years of nursing experience, Lynda has worked in a variety of settings including acute care, home care, long term care and rehabilitation. Experience includes direct patient care, nursing management and over ten years in staff development in both acute care and long term care with expertise in program development and implementation.
