A Nursing Community Summit
Creating a Plan Together - Thinking Through Nursing Recruitment and Retention
In June 2002, more than 70 Massachusetts-based nursing and health care organizations came together to address the nursing shortage in Massachusetts. The group developed a plan to establish the Massachusetts Center for Nursing - MCN. The Center is dedicated to the ongoing recruitment and retention of registered nurses in Massachusetts.

The Center is incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in Massachusetts. It is comprised of a 16-member Board of Directors and a voting membership of nursing and health care organizations.

Through collaboration and innovation, MCN will be the recognized leader in nursing workforce activities and research.

MCN's mission is to assure that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has the nursing resources necessary to meet the health care needs of its citizens.
